Technology in the Classroom

Technology is everywhere we look. The kids today are much higher advance than us when it comes to this stuff. In schools today, students use computers for pretty much every subject, even in Phys, Ed. I use a Smart Board with coaching basketball. We view our basketball games on the screen and it allows us to break the game in every aspect. Kids today have ipods, messanger tools, highly interative games where they play against people from all over the world. PSP`s you name it and most kids are into to it. Kids today have to power down to come to school these days. I try to use technology as much as possible in my classroom because students have fun using it. and learning should be fun.

Thanks for the blog link, and the posts.

I am glad to hear that you are utilizing technology in your teaching and learning.

You are right, kids do power down in school. They are connected the rest of the day, but as soon as they walk through the doors to the school we cut off their digital arms and mute them. It's a shame, and all because most teachers don't want to have to "compete" with technology and figure out how to connect with their students through web-based tools.

I look forward to reading your blog and keeping updated on how you are using technology in your classes. I will try and share some PE sites that may be of interest to you as we go along.

Cheers,
